In fact I've noticed an increasing apathy of companies to provide support in such cases. They certainly could provide a workaround, but they would rather have you pay money for another player. In anycase, I agree with you, The Rio 500 is not at all an old player and should definitely be supported by Diamond with Windows XP. The companies that make these LOVE new OS releases because thier older (less than one year old products) never work correctly on the new OS and you are forced to pay to upgrade to a version that works. It uninstalled RealJukebox Plus and then wouldn't let me encode any higher than 96k!! It said I had to pay more money to do so! I tried to reinstall RealJukeBoxPlus but it said that the two products are not allowed to co-exist.īut my biggest amount of griping has to be about system utilities such as PcAnywhere and Systemworks. Just yesterday I downloaded and installed RealOne. It sucks and something must be done!!! I purchased RealJukebox Plus a couple years ago and have been using it since for MP3 encoding. I could understand if you wanted to use your original foot and a half long 8-bit SoundBlaster card with XP and it wouldn't work, but we're talking about products purchased within the last year or even within the last month! I am so tired of new Operating Systems making recent programs and devices obsolete. I can't say that I have an answer for you, but I feel like ranting a little.
